T 3 buses have a known problem with corrosion, the so-called edge rust. It is found in all places where different metal parts meet. The plates were welded from the rear and the outer bead was sealed with body kits. After that the body was painted. Over the years, the kit ages with UV radiation, temperature fluctuations and body vibrations, cracks develop and allow moisture to penetrate. As a result, the weld seams, which are not sealed at all from the inside, rust and separate, which of course accelerates the destruction process. The location between the rear side wall and the wheel arch is usually one of the first places where this process is to be noted. The front wheel arches still bounce in the area of the step and the surrounding sheet metal.
