In den 10 Jahren wurden mehr als 6000 Fahrzeuge des Typ 147 produziert, und 85 % der Fahrzeuge wurden an die Bundespost ausgeliefert. Dein Namensgeber war ein Mitarbeiter, der gesagt haben soll: „er sieht aus wie ein Fridolin!“ Da der Name Fridolin viel sympathischer klingt, als Typ 147 wurde das Modell so eingebürgert.
