Der Kleinwagen Polo 86C 2F, wurde wegen des enormen Erfolgs erst im Oktober vom Polo III (6N) abgelöst. Der Polo hat ein Frontantrieb und vorn einen quer eingebauten Ottomotor. Den 6N gab es ihn als 3- und erstmals auch als 5-türer, mit einem Fünfganggetriebe oder einer 4-Stufen-Automatik. Der Leistungsgrad bei dem Ottomotor liegt bei 33 bis 92 kW, und bei dem Dieselmotor 42 bis 81 kW. Der Bereich in der Elektrik wurde 1997 überarbeitet und stammt von der Plattform des Golf III.

Der Kleinwagen Polo 86C 2F, wurde wegen des enormen Erfolgs erst im Oktober vom Polo III (6N) abgelöst. Der Polo hat ein Frontantrieb und vorn einen quer eingebauten Ottomotor. Den 6N gab es ihn als 3- und erstmals auch als 5-türer, mit einem Fünfganggetriebe oder einer 4-Stufen-Automatik. Der Leistungsgrad bei dem Ottomotor liegt bei 33 bis 92 kW, und bei dem Dieselmotor 42 bis 81 kW. Der Bereich in der Elektrik wurde 1997 überarbeitet und stammt von der Plattform des Golf III.
