Threaded union for HBZ, fits various models

  • M12×1 mm to M10×1 mm
  • When converting to disc brakes, the pressurising valves for the brake lines to the disc brakes must be removed. This threaded union allows the brake lines to be connected directly to the M12×1 screw connections on master brake cylinders.
  • In drum brakes, pressurising valves ensure that a minimum pressure is maintained, meaning that the brake linings make contact more quickly when braking. This is particularly advantageous during emergency braking.
  • Until the 1970s, Volkswagen mostly used M12×1 pressurising valves, which were screwed directly into the master brake cylinder. From the late 1970s onwards, into master cylinder integrated bottom valves, threaded unions (M10×1 mm to M12×1 mm), M10×1 pressurising valves for the master cylinder, or fitted within the brake lines were used.
  • More modern technology, such as self-adjusting drum brakes and improved master cylinders, generally made pressurising valves obsolete from the 1990s onwards.
